This week Sparks asks some more light-hearted questions.  Here are my answers.

When you were a kid, did you eat the crusts on your sandwich or not?

No, sandwiches with crusts go stale faster, don’t they?   I refused to eat my sandwiches if they had crusts on them.  I was an indulged child – for a while my mom would make me ‘rainbow’ sandwiches without crusts but I went off those too and refused to eat anything at school.  I would come home starving and have sardines on toast and a cup of cocoa.

What’s something your family would be surprised to learn about you?

I enjoy alone time but that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy their company too!

Six weeks ago a routine blood test showed that both the Earl and I had pre-diabetic levels of sugar.   The integrative doctor who we’re consulting tweaked our diet, put us on some supplements and recommended taking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in hot water every morning.  And it worked!  She tested our sugar levels yesterday and we’re both within normal range!  For this, I am hugely grateful.

    I think your Mom spoilt you.. I also baked for years and enjoyed seeing the lovely iced cakes afterwards but my kids friends devoured them the next day. Now in my old age I just buy.. Enjoy. Glad your sugar levels are normal again.

    Thanks so much for Sharing Your World! That apple cider vinegar chart is priceless, thanks for letting us all see it and benefit from it! 😀 I’m glad your doctor was pre-emptive and had you jump right on the increased sugar levels. As I can say from personal experience, having diabetes is not a good thing at all!

      It was a great relief, Melanie. Our new doctor certainly has given us great dietary advice – it is just up to us to follow it😁 Just can’t do the vegetarian thing but we are trying to have at least one vegetarian day per week. She is happy that we don’t eat junk food though
